Chloe’s Reality Reviews

By Chloe Wright

Often, when I find myself in a horrible situation, I look at myself in the mirror, slap cold water on my face, and tell myself, “Baby girl, at least you’re not doing a duet with Michael Bolton on The Masked Singer.” Okay, I don’t really do that. But the point still stands. Today I will suffer through semifinales, or rather the finales for both groups A and B.

Group A: We start off the episode in whichthat we will get two performances for each contestant: the Skunk and the Bull. The first performance will be run of the mill, but the second one will be a duet between one of the contestants and another popular artist. Here is my short and not sweet “analysis” of the performances.

For the Bull, the duet will be with past runner-up Jesse McCartney (aka the Turtle of Season 3). But before this, we get another clue package to give the most specific clues to his identity and have the judges make revolutionary observations such as when the random dude in the ice costume holds up a checkered flag and Ken Jeong says “checkered flag”.

Verdict for the first performanceperformace? He doesn’t stink. Some of his dancing is shaky, but that’s the camera’s fault. For example, he mimes spraying graffiti on a brick wall with the words “The Bull” on it which is exactly what you should expect from this show, but the camera doesn’t do him any favors because it blocks everything. I can’t be mad at him for performing Paula Abdul’s “Straight Up” because of reasonsbecause reasons. I’m just mad at Ken Jeong. What ever happened to his Community days?

Verdict for the duet? Mediocre. When Jesse and the Bull sang, it wasn’t horrible even though it honestly didn’t blend. But when they don’t sing together but rather back to back, they sound like they fit well.
