Greetings reliable readers! This month, in honor of the horrible, cold weather, we will be reviewing winter wear! The category includes any item to help you prevent getting frostbite, so we have a wide range of submissions. Today’s review will be broken up into two sections for more fair judging: clothing and accessories.
First up, the clothing round!
Our first contestant is Mr. Gray with his red and beige sweater! It was a homemade gift from his wife, bonus points for true love! I can’t shake the feeling that this sweater looks like a pokeball, but luckily I’m a big Pokémon fan so that gets more points from me, too! I think it’s a great sweater with an even better story behind it, and I like the flexibility it has since it can be for a holiday with the red stripe, or for any occasion. 7.5/10 for love and Pokémon!
Next, Dr. Seyfred in his geometric and multi-colored sweater. He insisted on posing, “as if he was amidst a lesson,” even though he’s not even in his classroom and doesn’t teach the subject that is on the board. Nevertheless, Dr. Seyfred has set out to redeem himself after his last clothing review was not up to his normal standards. I think he has done just that, in fact, I would even wear this sweater myself! Not his sweater, but another copy that looks like it. He even coordinated his tie, and wore the sweater on a day when it was too warm for him to be comfortable doing so, so I have to give bonus points for the commitment. I’d give this sweater a 9/10, I’m glad Dr. Seyfred finally was able to dress well!
Upon learning that Dr. Seyfred posed for his photo submission, Mr. Johnson for some reason felt the need to do the same. We have two photos, the “action shot” and the plaid interior. This brown corduroy coat is a great closet staple, it’s very versatile and easily matched with cool or warm tones. I’m really a big fan of corduroy, so I’m rather biased here. I think Mr. Johnson’s outfit is wonderfully coordinated and looks super cozy, which garners extra points, too. Overall, a solid 9/10, tough competition! *For legal reasons, the mustache is not allowed to take away points from the clothing’s score as a whole.
We now have a dual submission for clothing and accessories!
First, to finish off the clothing, we’ll look at the navy double breasted coat. Ms. Dillard always knows how to dress! The coat matches really well with her shoes and pants, and although I’m not personally a big fan of this type of jacket, Ms. Dillard styled it well enough to override my personal bias. It looks soft, so 8/10.
To kick off the accessories section, Ms. Dillard’s gray scarf! I don’t have a ton to say about it, it’s a scarf and her neck will be warm, and it also looks soft. I think it’s styled nicely and it looks comfortable to wear. I’d give it a 6/10, I’m not a huge scarf person myself, but this one is nice.
Next, Mr. Blair with his winter hat and gloves. For the gloves, they seem very practical and I think the colored fingertips are fun. He says they’re primarily for hiking, so the practicality and simplicity of the gloves go well together. I think they’re pretty warm looking, and they even have a waterproof piece of fabric that can fold out for water protection! Really quite useful, solid 8/10. The hat, on the other hand, looks itchy, and I don’t want my head to be itchy. However, I think it would serve its purpose of head warming.
Finally, our last submission is Mrs. Snider’s polar bear hat. I mean, this is just adorable, how could you not love it? The hat was a Christmas present, and I think it fits her personality perfectly. It’s really sweet and looks warm, definitely a 10/10!
Thank you so much to all the contestants! Here are the final results:
| Clothing | Teacher | Score |
| Geometric sweater | Dr. Seyfred | 9/10 |
| Corduroy plaid jacket | Mr. Johnson | 9/10 |
| Double breasted coat | Ms. Dillard | 8/10 |
| Homemade sweater | Mr. Gray | 7.5/10 |
Ultimately, I had to go with Dr. Seyfred as the winner since his sweater fit the overall theme of this issue better!
| Accessory | Teacher | Score |
| Polar bear hat | Mrs. Snider | 10/10! |
| Black and neon gloves | Mr. Blair | 8/10 |
| Gray scarf | Ms. Dillard | 6/10 |
| Striped hat | Mr. Blair | 5.5/10 |
Congratulations to Dr. Seyfred and Mrs. Snider for their wins!
