Ms. Handelsman’s senior AP Literature classes have been anxiously awaiting their final vocabulary quiz. The seniors have taken twenty vocabulary quizzes since starting AP Lang as Juniors. For some odd reason, Jack Boger was oddly nervous about this final assessment. Jack voiced his worry about the direction of the accent marks on Pièce De Résistance. A look of pure panic spread across his entire face, and no one knew what to say.
While the E period AP Literature class started taking the quiz, it seemed like everything was running fairly smoothly. The class worked through the entire quiz and one by one, students started to turn in their papers. After approximately 10 minutes, everyone had turned in their quizzes with ease, except for Jack. Everyone knew which question he was debating and the class was secretly looking forward to him finally missing a question. After another 7 minutes, Ms. Handelsman gave Jack a final warning to turn in his quiz, and with great frustration, he got up and handed her the quiz.
If you are familiar with Ms. Handelsman and her grading system, you would know that she grades VERY quickly. It took no time to realize that Jack Boger did indeed miss one question on the vocabulary quiz, leaving him with a 97%. His class quietly and internally cheered while Jack was left still wondering just which direction the accent marks went on Pièce De Résistance.
