Welcome to a world of limitless possibilities, where the journey is as exhilarating as the destination, A photo can mean many different things to many different people. One could say that it’s a “moment,” “a story,” or possibly, “a time machine,” and perhaps even, “0.5’s of my friends”. Photos help us remember the moments, big or small, make an impact, and become the catalyst for change.
It’s the photos that help us discover the patterns of humans in history, understand scientific concepts, and come together to form connections. In our lives, we’ve experienced photography from the dreaded picture day last month, to (#throwback) summer vacation, or a beautiful sunset as the crisps of fall seems to ease its way onto campus. Whatever the story, whatever the purpose, photos are a way for us to connect with the world.
The BGA Photography Show is a collection of more than 150 incredible photos from the students and faculty with locations ranging from Africa, Alaska, and on the BGA campus. Newer to the BGA arts curriculum, the Digital Art and Photography classes have contributed their works to the show, as well as new teacher and professional photographer, Mrs. Kindred, who has brightened the halls of the art building and inspired many with her vivacious personality and expertise. “Mrs. Kindred has an infectious enthusiasm for photography. I am excited to see how the program and the photography show will grow as a result” said Mrs. Guerrini, middle school art teacher.
We certainly have some incredible talent in the halls of BGA, and the arts programs continue to grow every year with annual shows, events, and remarkable faculty. All of the photos showcased in the Photography Show are unique, tell the stories of the BGA community, and are crafted in intriguing artistic detail. The opening of the Photography Show was a night for students, teachers, and families to connect and showcase the skills and stories of our talented photographers and artists.
