Each year the BGA comes together to celebrate all of the wonderful alumni, traditions, and memories within our community. Last week was marked by the annual Homecoming dance on Saturday after a spirit week full of the Legacy Breakfast, class reunions, and Wednesday night bonfire, and the football game under the Friday night lights. At the Homecoming Dance, students in grades 9-12 came together to meet on one dance floor outside the Mary Campbell. From the set-up to the playlist, let’s see what students thought of the event!
In order to capture the opinions of the Homecoming dance across the high school, we asked 12 students to answer a selection of the following questions:
- What is your overall rating of the dance out of ten?
- What was your favorite part of the dance?
- What do you think should be improved?
- How was the music?
- In your opinion, is it worth hiring a DJ, or do you prefer having Dr. Kantor?
- Any song suggestions to make the playlist ideal for students?
- Any additional comments?

Overall, Homecoming was quite the success. With an average rating of 7.09/10, and some crucial notes as to how we can improve the dance, these students captured the opinions of first time to fourth time “Homecomers” and even helped create a playlist of the top 20 that were, or should have been, played. With notable suggestions such as “having a theme” from Wilson Webster and a common request of more “2000s music” from Lola Padula and Elle Young, we thank these students for their opinions on how to make this night fulfill everyone’s Homecoming dreams. From the exciting memories made with classmates to the endless energy on the dance floor, thank you to teachers, staff, parents, and students for making this all happen.
