The movie follows the main character Derice Bannok, who wants to run in the Olympics but through no fault of his own does not make it. He still wants to go to the Olympics, however, so he decides to create a bobsled team.
This movie is a fantastic movie to watch during winter. It puts tropical athletes into a snowy atmosphere while incorporating underdog themes and humor. With Doug E. Doug in this movie, it was impossible for it not to be hilarious. Just watching all of the characters, who have never seen snow or ice before, compete in Canada was comical and extremely entertaining in and of itself.

Miracle is the perfect movie to watch while it is cold outside because it is set during the Winter Olympics. Watching the team’s journey as they come together and learn how to work with each other gives the movie a heartfelt feeling. The famous scene in the locker room, when Brooks gives the speech right before they play the Soviets, is inspirational and creates an indescribably uplifting feeling. This movie is a fantastic feel-good movie that is perfect for the winter atmosphere outside.

At the beginning of the movie the wizard, Rasputin, puts a hex on Anastasia and her family. The entire Romanoff family dies except for Anastasia and her grandmother who get separated. The movie follows Anastasia as she finds her way back to her grandmother.
Anastasia is perfect for winter because it is in Russia, so obviously there is a ton of snow. The soundtrack for this movie is very whimsical and adds to the wintery atmosphere that the movie has. Songs like “Once Upon a December” and “Journey to the Past” are haunting, emotional, and instantly memorable. Anastasia is an exciting adventure-filled 90 minutes with a hint of romance woven in.

The music used throughout the movie sets the mood for each of the scenes and makes the happy and sad moments within the film stand out even more than they already did. He adapts to his new environment and develops independence. Other characters that Buck meets throughout the film help him become mature as they all contribute greatly to how he ends up becoming the dog he is.
Among the many beautiful wintery scenes displayed throughout this film, there are also numerous features which demonstrate both the beauty and brutality of nature. One of the biggest components of this movie is the strong relationship between Buck and John Thornton, played by Harrison Ford. John demonstrates compassion and tenderness to Buck consistently throughout the movie, which creates unbreakable trust and a strong bond of friendship between them. The close relationship between Buck and John strengthens the overall message of the film and conveys important values of loyalty, friendship, and love. Frankenstein (Rated R)
Frankenstein, a Netflix original movie inspired by Mary Shelley’s well-known novel, stars Oscar Isaac as Dr. Victor Frankenstein, Jacob Elordi as the Creature, and Mia Goth and Christoph Waltz. The film focuses on both the scientist who has become obsessed with creating life and the creature the scientist created, who is left behind in the world without any guide to help him understand or survive.
Even though this movie is not a traditional winter movie or the normal heartfelt winter film, it still fits the season in a different way. The film is primarily set in dark, cold cities, icy landscapes, and gloomy laboratories, giving it an unsettling and unsafe atmosphere. The primary theme of Frankenstein is how the pursuit of ambition can have disastrous, negative consequences for both individuals and society when those ambitions become excessive. The story illustrates how Victor’s obsession with creating life leads to disastrous results. Frankenstein is a serious and thought-provoking movie that is still a great movie to watch during the winter (as long as you are 17 and have your parents’ approval).

Dead Poets Society is a story about very strict students in a prep school experiencing an inspirational new English teacher named John Keating, played by Robin Williams. Keating encourages his students to think for themselves and “seize the day,” inspiring them to start a secret club called the Dead Poets Society.
Dead Poets Society is such an amazing movie that you will always remember once you have seen it. It has such an extremely cozy yet serious feel to it through its setting, an old boarding school with foggy grounds and quiet hallways, but it feels like it is a winter time movie because of being an extremely slow, sentimental movie to experience at this time of the year.
